About me

My name is Birgir Hilmarsson and I have been in the therapy sector both part-time and full-time since I finished my massage studies in the year of the Lord in 1995. Since then I have attended various courses related to my therapy work. Since 1998, I have been using Craniosacral Therapy as my main form of treatment. Over the past year, however, my work as a therapist has been changing so that now I use the best from all the courses I have been a student on and thus found my way to treat those who have come to me and that I believe with good success.

It is my firm belief and conviction that by approaching the body of the person who comes for treatment, in a neutral way and treating what the body shows me what needs treatment, the time the treatment takes place.

By examining and evaluating the body every time a treatment takes place, we are listening to the body and following the body's "wishes" when it "wants" to be treated that time. Often people come with a specific problem, e.g. in the shoulder or lower back. When it comes to the therapy bench, the body "shows" that the cause of the pain in these aforementioned places is found in places other than the back or shoulder.

With this method of analysis, we manage to work with the body and emotions/mind as a whole.

Approaching the body and health problems that plague the person, by integrating body and soul, it is often possible to achieve surprising and unexpected results for the improvement of the person's health. Although sometimes it is not possible to make certain problems/pains/conditions go away, a big milestone is reached by helping the person to feel better in the struggle they have..

Being able to help bring a person, at any age, to improved health is one of the most rewarding jobs anyone can do.

Often, during courses in the various forms of therapy, students are told that they should not work with the knowledge they are learning except in one specific way, and that several forms of therapy may not be mixed together, or that this form of therapy may only be performed in one specific way. and then in the way the treatment is taught. But it is my experience as a therapist that by taking the best of the therapeutic resources that I have learned, the reality is that the outcome of the treatment is often better when you use all the "tools" in the box than when only one "tool" " is used.
